Moonfort: Tower Defense — Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how the mobile game Moonfort: Tower Defense ("the game") handles information. The game is published by Quick Vision Studios ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected]

Summary

  • You can play fully offline. You do not need an account.
  • We do not ask for your name, e-mail address, contacts, location, photos or any other personal information.
  • We do not sell your data.
  • The game uses services from Google and Apple for ads, purchases, anonymous gameplay statistics and crash reports. These services are described below.
  • Players under 13, and players under the digital age of consent in their country, play in a protected mode with no personalized ads and no gameplay statistics.

Data stored on your device

Your progress (levels, stars, gears, unlocked looks and settings) and your answer to the age question are saved only on your device. To erase them, use Settings > Reset data in the game or uninstall the game.

Age question

The first time you open the game it asks for your birth year, with no answer pre-selected. The answer stays on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else. It decides which mode the game runs in (see "Children" below).

Advertising

Rewarded ads are always optional: you choose to watch one in exchange for a bonus. The game may also show a short ad between levels; buying "Remove ads" turns these off.

Ads are provided by Google AdMob. For adult players, AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), IP address and ad interaction data in order to show, measure and personalize ads and to prevent fraud.

  • In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first, using Google's consent form.
  • On iOS we ask your permission before any tracking (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We receive only a confirmation of what was bought. We never see your payment details.

Gameplay statistics (adults only)

To improve level difficulty, the game sends anonymous gameplay statistics through Google Firebase Analytics, but only for adult players. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it does so only if you agreed to analytics in the consent form.

  • What is sent: for each finished level, the level number, whether you won, stars, attempt number, waves reached, remaining hearts, time played, game speed used, which toys were placed and at what level, and battery spent and saved. A separate event is also sent when you first reach certain level milestones.
  • What is not sent: your name, e-mail, advertising ID or anything that identifies you personally.
  • Identifier: Firebase uses a random identifier for this installation of the game, so that events from the same installation can be counted together. It is not linked to your identity and it is reset if you reinstall the game.
  • Settings: ad-related analytics features are switched off and automatic screen tracking is disabled.

Crash reports

When the game crashes it sends a crash report through Google Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix the bug. A report contains:

  • technical details of the crash;
  • the device model and operating system version;
  • a random identifier for this installation.

It does not contain the advertising ID or personal information.

Content updates

When online, the game may download new levels, balance values or translation fixes from our content server. These requests contain no personal data and no identifiers. Like any web server, the host may briefly log your IP address for security.

Children

The game is made for all ages, including children. It follows:

  • the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA);
  • the GDPR rules for children ("GDPR-K");
  • the Google Play Families Policy;
  • Apple's guidelines for apps used by children.

For players under 13, and for players under the digital age of consent in their country (13 to 16 in the EEA and the UK), the game runs in a protected mode:

  • Ads are requested with Google's child-directed or under-age-of-consent setting. They are limited to general-audience content and are never personalized.
  • The advertising ID is not sent.
  • No consent form and no tracking prompt is shown.
  • Gameplay statistics are switched off.
  • There are no self-opening offers or countdown deals.

Only crash reports, as described above, are sent.

Purchases go through Google Play or the App Store. There, parents can require approval for purchases (Google Play purchase approvals, Apple Ask to Buy).

If you are a parent and believe your child has given us personal information, or you have any question, write to [email protected]. We will respond and help remove the information.

Data retention

Firebase Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months. Crashlytics reports are kept for 90 days. Data on your device stays until you reset it or uninstall the game.

Your rights

We do not hold personal data that identifies you, so there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For data processed by Google or Apple, use their privacy tools. You can also write to us at [email protected] and we will help.
